We were up at the Deer Creek Cabins this weekend, making sure our renters were alright and relaxing ourselves. Ntm enjoying the noon/after noon thunder showers cooling everything down for a bit. I brought the Evelyn Shawl I am working on and some embroidery – for the hotter parts. As it was, I was able to work on the Evelyn Shawl quite a bit, to the point I have 6 more rows and bind off. However, I started my last skein of Juniper Moon Farm chunky a few rows back . . . .so now I am playing yarn chicken.
Sitting on the back porch of the “3rd Cabin”. My favorite morning
hiding spot out of the sun.
Aaaand we have a storm rolling in. Oh darn.
For Mother’s Day this year I did something a little different and took my Mom to Yarn Scout for her gift. She picked the Messenger Kit by Stephanie Shiman, a Wonderland Yarns kit. Though it took a couple months, I finished it in time (barely) for my parent’s 4th of July visit.
In which my brother wanted to be in the picture, so there is
She really likes it. 🙂
I like this one enough I might keep it for myself . . .or make another one. I seriously can’t get over the colors and sparkles.
So close, and yet so far . .
Like I said, I freaking love this yarn.
A brief modeling stint.
After re starting this project this last fall and being pushed to the wayside a couple times, my Not A Noro Scarf was completed this morning! Btw, I call it the Not a Noro scarf as it is Painted Sky, not Noro.
Based on the Noro Scarf by Jared Flood.
And that is okay. Kind of. I am squirreling in my projects again. Most of the things I have been working on for myself I have put on hold for a bit, while I get some Yule and Christmas gifts done so I am not overwhelmed closer to the time of. No one likes to be finishing their gifts on the drive to their parents house . . . . which may have happened several times already. This year I will be prepared! Honest. (hahahahahahahaha)
I started another Graham hat this week – Yarn Bee Dazzling
in Sunburst/40. I just could resist the sparkles and colorway.
Fair warning – may be making A Lot of Graham hats for gifts.
I do not know exactly what it is, regardless, it was
a cool sight for our Saturday drive around.
This weekend we spent at my husband’s family’s cabins – Deer Creek Cabins – continuing spring maintenance and post winter cleaning. On one of my jaunts around, I noticed the daffodils came back again. The glacier lilies have sprouts up every where as well. I predict that they will mostly bloom around Mother’s Day.
In further news, I finished the hat I was working on for my Dad – the #LOUDER – as he is a big Sea Hawks fan. I know little about sportsball all the things, but I think he will like this.I messed up a little bit on the on the Beastquake bit, but if you weren’t comparing it to the graph, I don’t think you’d notice.
It is just exhausting chasing those squirrels, so October helped me get started
with the #LOUDER hat I am working on.
It was only sunny for a bit, so I took full advantage of it and sat in the shade
with my knitting and audio book.
Further proof of sunlight.
